Project Description
Rotary Club of Butwal Downtown successfully contributed to the District 1 Lakh Tree Plantation Campaign through a three-day plantation and maintenance initiative, planting a total of 675 trees at different locations in Butwal.
Day 1 – 23rd July:
The Club initiated the campaign by planting 375 flowering trees along the road divider of Siddhartha Highway, covering the stretch from Milanchowk to Finance Chowk. The plantation program was conducted in the presence of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, along with club members and other stakeholders. The initiative aimed to enhance the beauty of the city while contributing to a greener and cleaner urban environment.
Day 2 – 31st July:
On the second day, the Club planted 100 fruit-bearing trees at Mandavya Sewa Ashram. The location was selected with the objective of ensuring the long-term preservation and care of the planted trees, as the administration of the Ashram will take responsibility for their regular maintenance. During the program, the Club also handed over the Rotary Four-Way Test to the Ashram administration, reinforcing Rotary's values of ethical leadership and service.
Day 3 – 4th August:
The Club conducted another tree plantation and maintenance program at Late Rtn. Gopalraj Rajbhandari Memorial Rotary Park. As part of the initiative, 100 trees were planted, while attention was also given to the maintenance and protection of existing greenery within the park.
Through these three activities, Rotary Club of Butwal Downtown planted and supported the plantation of 675 trees, making a meaningful contribution to the District’s ambitious 1 Lakh Tree Plantation Campaign. The initiative reflects the Club’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability, community service and creating a greener future for generations to come,
